About Us

Not On Our Watch began in our hearts in 2017. After reading the book of Judges over and over again we read about a generation that arose that did not know the Lord. This all happened because the previous generation did not do their job of passing down their faith. They forgot to tell their children about the glorious deeds of the Lord. It was in that moment that we decided this would not be us, Not On Our Watch would a generation arise that will not know the Lord.

However, making this happen takes planning. It takes purpose. It takes shaping our priorities as a family and as a church. Discipleship does not just happen. It is planned and purposeful. After a season of haphazard discipleship with our own children we decided we needed a plan. We needed ideas written down. We needed something to guide us or discipleship would never happen.

So here we are. Two parents trying to figure this out. Two parents sharing our journey of disciplining our children with you. We want you to journey with us. It will not be perfect, but it will be a beautiful and chaotic journey where together we point a generation of children to Jesus. Not On Our Watch will they ever forget the glorious deeds of the Lord. Here’s to the journey.

Psalm 78:4

We will not hide them from their children,
but tell to the coming generation
the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might,
and the wonders that he has done.

Our names are Michael and Erin Woodfin. We live in Marshall, TX where Michael works as a CPA and Erin, after 8 years in full time Children’s ministry, decided to be a stay-at-home mom. We have three girls, Audrey Jane, Susie Kay, and Penny Grace. We love to go on adventures as a family. Camping in the woods with a lake near by is our favorite. We love to watch baseball. Michael is a big Braves fan. We love spending time with others, especially if it involves tacos. When we get the chance, Michael and I love having deep conversations over a perfectly hot cup of coffee.
